FAQ

  • Can cloud GPUs be used for AI training and inference?

Yes. Cloud GPUs can be used for both AI training and inference, but the best GPU depends on the workload.

For large-model training and fine-tuning, GPUs such as the NVIDIA H100, H200, A100 and B200 are commonly used because they provide high memory capacity, Tensor Core performance and multi-GPU scaling.

For inference, smaller models and cost-sensitive workloads may be better suited to GPUs such as the NVIDIA L4 or L40S.

    When comparing cloud GPUs, consider:

    • GPU memory and memory bandwidth
    • Model size and context length
    • Training or inference requirements
    • Single-GPU or multi-GPU scaling
    • Provider region and availability
    • Attached CPU, RAM, storage and networking
    • On-demand, monthly or reserved pricing

The most expensive GPU is not automatically the best choice. The right option is the one that meets your workload requirements at an acceptable cost.
